ColonyRush ("we", "our", or "us") operates the ColonyRush mobile and web application (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

Please read this policy carefully. By using ColonyRush you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you create an account we collect:

Email address — used to identify your account and for authentication.
Display name — shown to other players in multiplayer games.
Authentication tokens — issued by Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In when you use those login methods. We do not receive your Apple or Google password.

1.2 Game Data

We collect data generated while you play:

Game results, scores, and rankings
In-game actions and turn history (used to reconstruct replays and compute statistics)
Leaderboard positions
Daily challenge and goal completion status

1.3 Usage & Analytics

We use PostHog to collect anonymized analytics about how you interact with the app — for example, which screens you visit and which features you use. This data does not include the content of your games or private communications.

1.4 Crash & Error Reports

We use Sentry to automatically collect crash reports and error logs. These may include device type, operating system version, app version, and a stack trace of the error. They do not include your name, email, or gameplay data unless you are logged in, in which case Sentry may receive your user ID to help correlate errors.

1.5 Purchase & Subscription Data

Subscription purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage entitlements (e.g., whether you have an active Pro subscription). RevenueCat receives your anonymized purchase receipt and subscription status. We do not store payment card information.

1.6 Device & Technical Information

We automatically collect:

Device model and operating system version
App version
IP address (used for server routing; not stored long-term)
Approximate time zone (to display local times)

2. How We Use Your Information

Provide and operate the Service (multiplayer matchmaking, leaderboards, saves)
Authenticate your account and prevent unauthorized access
Improve game balance and fix bugs using aggregated gameplay data
Display your statistics and ranking to other players
Send important service notifications (e.g., account security)
Process subscription purchases and verify entitlements
Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:

Other players — your display name and leaderboard rank are visible to other users.
Service providers — third-party vendors listed in Section 4 that process data on our behalf.
Legal compliance — if required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.
Business transfer — in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your data may transfer to the new entity under the same privacy protections.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information and game statistics for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer.

Crash reports and analytics data are retained for up to 12 months to support ongoing bug fixes and product improvements.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Delete your account and associated data
Export your data in a portable format
Opt out of analytics tracking

7. Children's Privacy

ColonyRush is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Data Transfers

ColonyRush is operated from the United States. If you are located outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page or by sending an in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
